This multimedia presentation highlights coffee’s history in Costa Rica and around the world, and the evolution of the golden bean from the plantation to your cup! For those with aesthetic sensibilities, you won’t want to miss the beauty! The day begins with a hotel pick up and trip to The Butterfly Farm in the rural community of La Guácima. After a total immersion experience in the butterflies, it’s a short drive to the Botanical Orchid Garden. Visitors will be shown through nurseries, a lower showroom, garden trails, water gardens and more. By the end visitors will have learned to distinguish among the different stages that orchids pass through, the extreme flower variation, how to take care of them and much more. A delicious lunch is served at the Vanilla Café, the garden’s well-regarded restaurant. Participants should be heading back to their hotel by around 1:30 p.m.
