Mural Title: Floating Butterflies
The mural evokes a relationship and a coming closer to nature as a source of life and constant change.
Circles and spheres are archetypal symbols, the most perfect shapes and they symbolize that everything has a cycle, a beginning and an end, giving way to change and finally a return. Linear time is a mirage, man's invention, that fits within the cyclical time that encompasses life and death, day and night, rainy and dry seasons, and so forth. This same concept is applied to the marvelous cycle of the butterfly’s life as it changes through its metamorphosis.
The butterflies in the spheres symbolize the perfect cycle, and the consistency of nature in a background created with butterfly parts,
a colorful composition that suggests life and a
lot of movement, as well as the mysticism that is suggested in the great contrast of colors and the light in the composition.
The forms result from the simplification of the butterflies" soft and organic forms that get fused with the plants, simulating a butterfly in flight that encompasses like wings, the floating spheres along with the butterfly’s metamorphosis.
