The Butterfly Farm is open every day, without exception, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Tours take approximately 2 hours.Tours are offered 4 times daily beginning at:
- 8:45 a.m.
- 11:00 a.m.
- 1:00 p.m.
- 3:00 p.m.
- and by special arrangement for groups.
While it's highly recommended to get the most from one's visit, guests are not required to take a guided tour. Visitors are always welcome to remain all day and enjoy The Butterfly Garden.
Direct round-trip transportation from many of the principal hotels of San José and hotels near the Juan 
Santamaria International Airport is available 3-times daily Mondays through Fridays. Bus reservations are required in advance. To make your reservation, click here.
The Butterfly Farm is well served by public buses coming from Alajuela and San José. Because the schedule can change occasionally, please contact us for the most recent bus schedule.
