Mural Title: Butterfly of Hope
The mural is an allegory to the teachings of the brave and magical butterflies; to the effort they must make in order to emerge fully, step by step, and against all odds from their eggs, and open their wings to fly towards a life full of colors and joy.

Metaphorically this can be translated as the hope and effort that a country like ours must make in order to overcome hard and discouraging times.
The bubble-butterflies produced by the children represent the hopes and dreams of a better world and the struggle against which Costa Rica is facing.
The mural has several symbolic meanings: the turbulent sea from which the monsters of drugs, violence and alcoholism threaten our peace.
The children represent the hope for the future of Costa Rica.

The sun coming from the national shield, along with the butterfly, represents the rebirth of our nation and the dreams of a country for peace and prosperity.
The mountain and the little ships is Costa Rica surrounded by the sea and the greenery and majesty of its mountains.
